Modern Waste uses its knowledge of the waste and recycling sector and its extensive network of businesses and technology contacts to assess new opportunities for investment. Working with investees, we typically seek to establish:
- A viable and robust business model
- Products and services which address a defined, sustainable and scalable market need or opportunity
- Proven and defensible intellectual property or knowhow
- A proven team of technical and commercial people
- Potential for the creation of significant shareholder value
We prefer to take an active role in assisting our businesses with their growth and development and will typically seek to take a significant minority or majority stake in the business.
Modern Waste has identified three key areas of strategic interest where we believe significant market opportunity exists:
- Production of energy from waste
- Material recovery and treatment
- Treatment of difficult or hazardous wastes
